A scarce set comprising reports from the Second Grinnell Expedition, which was dispatched to the Arctic to attempt to locate the whereabouts of Sir John Franklin’s expedition. By this point, Franklin and his crew were all presumed dead. Written by Elisha Kent Kane, the expedition’s leader, whose health would be permanently comprised due to the expedition.
