All page edges are also marbled. Five raised bands on the spine. Corners worn through to the boards. Rubbing of the edges. There's a 3/4" split at the bottom spine edge of the front. Gilt lettering on leather spine. Interior: Interior is in very good condition. Marbled endpapers. Pages are clean, smooth. No underlining/highlighting of text or handwriting of any kind. Three steel etchings on heavy paper plates, protected by tissues. The etchings are of Chief-Justice Waite, Sir Garnet Wolseley (the conqueror of Egypt), and Sir John A. Macdonald (the Canadian Premier). This volume also contains other b/w in text illustrations and maps. Text printed in double columns. 808 pages including index.
