Description: This a sterling Girl Scout ring with the eagle trefoil crest. It's marked "OB Ster" and was made circa 1930's by Ostby & Barton of Providence, Rhode Island. The company, founded in 1879, was known for its high quality jewelry, especially rings. One of the founders died on the Titanic, but the company continued to thrive into the 1950's. Many of these Girl Scout rings were adjustable; this one, a size 6 1/4 has a solid band. Yhese rings were more expensive new and are scarcer. A mark on the inside of the band at the center back, appears to indicate that it was resized. There's some light wear on the crest and the ring is slightly askew from long use,
