The 1949 yearbook for Alabama Polytechnic Institute, the GLOMERATA. In 1960 the name was changed to Auburn University ... most people already called it Auburn. 1949 was the year the Auburn Tigers again played the Crimson Tide after 41 years. Soon after the end of WWII and the military is given a lot of coverage. In the five-year period following the end of the war, enrollment at Auburn, aka API, more than doubled due to returning GIs taking advantage of the offer of free education. Listed separately is the 1950 yearbook. CONDITION: Tightly bound with no writing or markings. Black boards with shades of green lettering. Corners bumped. There is a strong odor from storage. The book will be left out to air until sold.
