Description: This is an antique Middle Eastern bowl made of copper and I believe silver. It is backed with tin. I am uncertain as to how old this is, but it definitely has very good age. I would think it’s at least 19th century, but please use your judgment. You can just sense it’s a very early piece. The bowl measures 2 inches high x 13 inches wide (5.1 cm x 33 cm). Most of the bowl is made of copper and there are remnants of what may have been some type of silver plating. There are decorations etched or engraved going around the interior. I’m sure they have meaning, but I just don’t know what they represent. It looks like the bowl is made with dovetailing going around the center . There is what I would consider a signature on the bottom or some type of mark with numerous dots inside a circle. I’m sure this has some type of important meaning. There is a tiny crack which you see clearly on the back but just a little in the front. I don’t think it affects the piece at all though. The entire bowl has a little bit of waviness to it, but I just attribute that to how the years have affected it. It weighs 2 lbs. 4 oz. (1.024 kg).
