Jamieson 1895- 1950 A prolific painter who often signed with other pseudonyms such as 'Graham Williams' and 'W. Richards', indeed it is thought that he may have actually signed under as many as 15 different names. The works of Francis E. Jamieson were most commonly Loch, Highland and river landscapes. He traveled widely through the country between the wars selling his paintings. His work was often in a more traditional Victorian style and his pictures were reproduced as postcards by Ajelli and Co of London around 1920. You will find very similar studies for sale on 1st Dibs for nearly £2000 each. Age- c1920 Medium- Oils on canvas. Size- 24 by 32 inches approx including frame. Condition- We would be happy to hang this painting as found. There is however some separation and craqueleur and bar marks are visible. The odd light mark in places, some bitumen bubble beneath the paint surface. Frame- Later wooden frame, some knocks, offered free with the painting. Signature- Lower left.
