Dish displays the proverb, "A Good Name Is Better Than Riches," spelled out with 3-dimensional glass dots on the underside of the dish. Geometric designs are also created on the underside with 3-dimensional glass dots. The dish has a round glass foot for resting on a table surface. The dish has air bubbles scattered in the glass which help date the dish, believed to be from the Victorian Period of England, approximately 1837 - 1900. Measurements, all approximate: Dish diameter: 5 inches;Dish height: 3/4 of an inch;Dish foot diameter: 2 1/4 inches. Excellent condition. No cracks, chips, markings, or blemishes. The glass has embedded air bubbles which help determine its age. The air bubbles are not considered defects. Also indicative of the dish's age are the sharp edges which are a result of a relatively primitive glass pressing process.
