Description: AUSTRALIA. 1913 Kangaroo 1st WMK stamps to 1sh. Clean, fresh and CDS fine used. Clean, bright fresh colours. All are fine used with complete or part CDS. Good, lightly used 'Roos are hard to come by. They are mostly often toned, or badly centred, or have poor perfs, or are heavily cancelled....or all four! Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE The 1913 (1st watermark) Kangaroo stamps used a horizontal grained, long fibre paper, which was quickly abandoned after a year or two of use. Consequently, due to the tough fibres not tearing apart easily, most 1913 'Roos have one or more perfs torn out - or very short perfs on either or both sides. If you try to carefully tear apart a pair of cheaper 1st 'Roos - you may rip out some perfs! These looks pretty decent. The perfs are unusually good, the stamps are clean and the 1st watermark can be seen clearly on the reverse image. There are 2 x1d - dies 1 and 2. SG 1-11 (there is no 7). Cat £200+ Overall, a nice looking set to 1/- of this classic stamp. No thins, tears or toning. Please review images.
