Description: Excellent Big Sandy E-Notch point from Christian County, Kentucky. Well-patinated Hornstone with several black (iron-rich) mineral deposits on the base. Found by Fleming Thompson as a surface find at the 15 Ch 217 site in Christian County (the site from which the Church Hill Corner Notch was first documented). Tip has been restored by Keith Etchison - last photo shows this point before restoration. Big Sandy points are thought to be 10,000 to 8,000 years old (Early Archaic period).
