Description: Here we are proud to offer you a cool and pretty rare / real vintage guitar (that's actually ~42 year old) - a great old Vintage Goya Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar by CF Martin & company. This guitar was built in the early 1970s in Japan when Martin had believed it was a good way to address the Japanese high quality lower priced guitars cutting into their bottom line. Martin commissioned Goya of Japan to build their own competitive instruments to their US manufactured line. No other country at that time was building anything close to the high quality guitars like Japan was making, at a saleable price point with reasonable markup. This was built during the time frame when the Japanese builders had some of the best quality woods available to them and were showing the world what they could do. This is a great example with both fine quality qoods used from the high grade mahogany to the solid spruce top to the rich dark Brazilian rosewood looking fingerboards they selected for some impressive work. Kept in great shape all these years 40+ years see the pics it truly looks more like its 3 years old then 40... We believe this example was built in Nagoya by the great Terada, that is pretty much the Custom shop builders in Japan they are responsible for the GB10 George Benson Ibanez line, among others. The SB model has a beautiful transparent cherry sunburst finish on top of a book matched SOLID AAA Spruce and the sides and back are mahogany, probably laminated. The Neck is also solid AAA mahogany with a beautiful rich looking rosewood fingerboard may be Brazilian Rosewood . The neck is rare, with a nicely v shape which feels really good to me - I think you'll be please with the feel as well. What a magnificent strummer! Last few pictures show string height at the 12th fret and the bridge saddle detail. The guitar has _some_ top lift about the bridge, as entitled to to age with continuous string tension. It's there, but almost impossible to depict using a camera side view or looping in window light. Feel free to ask further, request additional pictures via ebay's messaging system.
