Extremely Rare Deco E Howard Co 14 kt Gold Oversize Drivers Pocket Wrist watch

Description: This is a very unique and rare presentation of a vintage wristwatch. It is a handsome 14 karat E Howard pocket watch with a customized wristwatch bezel setting to accommodate a band. It is oriented like a drivers watch. The watch has an ornate 14k white gold octagonal open face case with a brushed silver face (with an antiqued golden hue ). It is 17 jewel and manual winding. It has 14 karat yellow gold Arabic numerals and blued steel kite shaped Breguet style hands. The color combination of silver and gold is stunning. Model number 35556. It measures 1 3/4” across or 44mm. Made in Boston, Massachusetts USA. The watch is in good working order and has recently been looked at by an accomplished watchmaker. The only thing that is missing is the seconds hand movement. I do not know why it was removed, but it is not present. (Just like Boo Radley’s watch in To Kill a Mockingbird! ;0) This has no bearing on the watch keeping time as it keeps perfect time and is in excellent condition considering the age. Typical surface scratches to the “glass” cover (Not sure what the actual material is). And naturally there are marks to the gold on the reverse. It is from the Art Deco era circa 1920 to 1924 or thereabouts. So it is a genuine antique watch at around 100 years old. It was made by the Howard company which was a premier watchmaker back in the day and highly collectible now. I was told by an expert that their watches are on par with Patek Philippe. The current value on this watch is around $4500. There are current examples in steel that are selling for $3500 on 1st Dibs, so this is an excellent buy for one in solid gold. It is currently fitted with an old calfskin black leather band which can easily be replaced. It came from the estate of an elderly gentleman in his late 90s. It is truly one of a kind and incredibly beautiful. It could be worn by a man or woman. A fantastic antique timepiece for the advanced collector, looking for a piece to elevate their collection.
