Description: Hypertherm Powermax 30 Air a.k.a. “The Lightning Cutter” a.k.a. Zeus’s Hacksaw… this thing is awesome and a heck of a lot of fun to use. A built in compressor allows it to be plug and play, no fuel required. Works best running off of 240v, but is functional off 120v. If you are going to run it off 120, make sure you keep the amperage knob is in the blue section ( around 15 amps max) or it will instantly pop the breaker, I know from experience dude. This is a must have for big machine shop projects, a lot of auto body fab, or anyone who wants to “ride the lighting”. *Update* So while I was testing this, I ran into a recurring issue. Everything works great, except the torch burns for 5-6 seconds, then stops. A few seconds after it will start up again. Researching told me it could be a poor ground, not enough amps (need to run off 240v), need cleaner cutting material, contact tip needs to be cleaned, etc…. Point is it could be a handful of things, might be simple and cheap, might not be. Either way, I don’t have the time or expertise to dive into it, which is why I’m significantly dropping the price. Again, this is a working machine, but needs some TLC to bring her back to full strength.
