Description: KOWA Emilia 7x,35 7.5* Binocular: Cleaned, Lubed & Enhanced! Here is a really sweet 7x,35 made by KOWA in the 1950s when the firm still used finely made, hand finished BK-7 prisms to nearly (some say definitely) equal the views from Bak-4 loaded optics. I have quite a few like this one in an ever evolving Collection that simply blows users'minds when they first try them. In this way the Japanese conquered the optic world after badly losing the Second World War. We cleaned the inside of typical haze causing film that EVERY old bino will have to one degree or another. No "tiny black spots" of old flecked off grease and/or fungus. Lubed the focus mechanisms using NYE synthetic damping grease for a lifetime of use. Cosmetically the vinyl covered chassis has a few chips and the bino is missing its screw off, deep set, black plastic eye cups. Have tried many others, from spares we have on hand, to those off other vintage sets, and have yet to find a match! Doesn't affect the binos useful one whit and it is how we use them and so many others from this era. Called the Golden Age of Japanese Bino Manufacturing. And for good reasons. When off, you get the widest possible views. Which is probably why they have gone missing in the first place. Lenses are remarkably cleaning mark free, or nearly so! Whoever once owned them certainly didn't abuse them. No shirttails used to wipe lenses here. We've added a strong black nylon web strap to carry the bino. And a set of up-cycled ocular lens caps.
