These books are facsimiles of the original editions and have been reprinted with new introductions, all by Paul Henkind (1932-1986), the Francis DeJur Professor and chairman of the department of ophthalmology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein School of Medicine in NY. DISEASES OF EYE AND EAR, Facsimile of 1863 edition This rare work was written by perhaps the greatest master of clinical observation. In this work one can see how Hutchinson used his clinical case notes to construct the edifice of knowledge about congenital syphilis, which is still the core of information about the subject. A treasure for anyone interested in clinical medicine. 272 pp. These 43 year old books are in good condition with no markings or tears to interior. Tight bindings. Bumped corners on a few of the books. Some light edge wear. Gold printing on binding is faded on #2 (Mackenzie) and #3 (Landolt). Leather chipped at bottom left spine, crack of about an inch at bottom hinge where endpaper meets spine on #1 (Donders). No loose pages on any of the books. Not ex-library. Please see photos.
