Description: Robert Nidy (1935-2021) was raised in St. Joseph Missouri and excelled in sports. Even though he had offers to play baseball from both the Cardinals and the Athletics, Robert chose to go to art school. Eventually he moved here to Fresno and had galleries here and in Carmel. His charming and rustic paintings were acquired by museums and used by set decorators in movies and television. Most of his work you see for sale are just prints, so this is a rare opportunity to own an original work of art from a listed artist. This ink and pigment painting is called ‘Pumpkin Fields’. The image measures 4.5 x 5.5 inches and has been triple matted to approximately 14 x 15 inches. The painting is probably from the 1990’s and the mats used were not acid free. The acid has caused a slight discoloration where the bottom mat touches the board the image was painted on. The discoloration (known as ‘mat burn’) doesn’t bleed into the image itself, so it could be matted out with a new acid-free mat. Be sure to make an offer on this or one of my other listings.
